Just got our mid-marking period grades today, and I have a fvcking D in Chem. Never had a D before on any report card or progress report. My Chem teacher showed me the grade sheet showing the grades of everyone in the class, and out of ~25 kids, there was not ONE A. Whatever happened to the damn Bell Curve?
I saw at least 10 D's, 10 C's, and the rest B's. Not high B's, low B's. We've got some smart kids in our class that maintain A's and B's in all their other classes. This is a regular, high school, Chemistry class. No Honors, no AP, just regular. There should be at least SOME A's in the class.
The problem is our teacher doesn't teach for sh!t. Her accent is very strong, and it's hard to understand her, or follow what she is saying when she is trying to explain something. On top of that, most of the stuff we do is on our own, and we get no explanation, so we all do very poorly.
I tried talking to her after class, and she basically said "too bad." I went to talk to my GC, and she basically said the same. I'm going to try to talk to my teacher again tomorrow, when everyone else in the class is gone, and hopefully I can convince her to let me get some extra credit in, or something.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, I have A's and B's in all other classes, and I had a B in Honors Biology last year, and my last year's GPA was a 3.8.
