I thought triglycrides was otherwise a part of sugar. If I am right its the long term sugar intake value. The only way you can bring that down is excersie, medicines and lower intake of sugar.. you did mention having a sweet tooth.

Triglycerides are fat, not sugar, the other name for suger is glucose, the difference is huge...

Do you remember the MCT (medium chain triglycerides), the fatty acid that was supposed to act as a sugar because it could be used as readily as a sugar, well, if people would just cut out the glucose out of their diet it would work too, but no one did, and it did not work very well... It increased the total number of ingested and not burned off triglycerides which is not good at all...

Funny thing.. this triglycrides thing came up a few days ago at home .. I was talking to my mom.. and that is what she said.. time to correct her on this.

Edit: I just talked to my mom.. it was another tri something.. not triglycrides.

oh well..
