Perks of my job include......
Getting to save peoples lives.
Access to extremely potent and wide ranging amounts of drugs.
Kick butt health insurance benefits.
Lots of alcohol after work...and if you get one person drunk enough they'll pay for everyone.
Along with the fact that I can work 3 days a week and that is full time.
However....
Cons are pretty harsh and include....
Having to deal with blood, guts, piss, feces and any other human bodily fluid you can think of on a daily basis.
Violent combative patients.
The occasional patient with a handgun/knife/other weapon
On REALLY rare occasions patients bringing live grenades into my work area and trying to set them off before a heroic security officier jumped the guy and took the grenade away and fell onto it with the pin out.

But really the perks do outweigh the cons working in an ER
