Correct or not, that was the biggest "I'm a jealous, whiny bitch" response I've seen in a while.

Almost balances out the 'OMG LOOK AT ALL MY MONEY AND PERKS!!' from the OP. Almost.

Hey, I never boasted about how much I make. The perks are nice if you are a sports fan though.

Yeah, but what is your hourly billing requirement?

Too much. 2000 hours for transactional work = a lot of time in the office. But it does pay the bills, and it is better than not working.

Never had to pull a 120 hour week yet. Topped out so far at ~90. That was not fun and I will quit before I have to do it agin.

Perks of my job include......

Getting to save peoples lives.

Access to extremely potent and wide ranging amounts of drugs.

Kick butt health insurance benefits.

Lots of alcohol after work...and if you get one person drunk enough they'll pay for everyone.

Along with the fact that I can work 3 days a week and that is full time.

However....

Cons are pretty harsh and include....

Having to deal with blood, guts, piss, feces and any other human bodily fluid you can think of on a daily basis.

Violent combative patients.

The occasional patient with a handgun/knife/other weapon

On REALLY rare occasions patients bringing live grenades into my work area and trying to set them off before a heroic security officier jumped the guy and took the grenade away and fell onto it with the pin out.(Link for the curious)

But really the perks do outweigh the cons working in an ER

I get 4.5 weeks annual leave, 35 hour work weeks, and get paid double pay for any overtime work (which is entirely up to me if I want to do it).

I work at a university.

My new job has a company store with 60% discounts, and just about as much billable overtime as I want.

I'm going to put in 27 hours of OT this week, which should make for a nice paycheck!

Perks:

5 movie cards that I get to assign to anyone I wish which allow them and guests in to as many movies as they want in a year (renewable each year, I just get to pick new names)

2 of them are good for 6 people
3 are good for 2 people

Free RANDOM sporting events (football/baseball/basketball)
37.5 hr work weeks with paid OT (4 days a week, OT optional past 40 hrs)
Free random lunches/dinners/breakfasts (although rare now that I've moved)
Free home cable internet
Free home phone with long distance
Free monitor (for home)
Free printer/fax/scanner (and ink when needed (for home))
Free office supplies
No driving to work

Not to mention they paid over 15k in moving costs covering 2 separate moves.

I love the perks of this job. The major downside is working most fridays and saturdays but it is all from home. Sundays off. Vacation is standard along with other benefits.

Can you scalp those tickets and make a buck? What's the point of sitting on a metal bench for four hours watching guys trying to hit a ball?

We get practical benefits like a fully stocked fridge and snack cabinet plus hanging out with the boss and playing with his kids.
