I'm surprised no one pointed out that water even with impurities removed will still conduct somewhat. Have a look at this list of dissociation constants: water's (at the bottom) very low but not 0. Pure H20 will conduct, just not terribly well.

A secondary issue: what would a lexicographical definition of 'troll' be in the forum sense?

<< F#ck you too. You said it! "Osmosis is the DIFFUSION of particles through a semi-permeable membrane. De-ionization of water is not done through osmosis." When you run osmosis the salt particles are left behind on the other side of the membrane.

Please get a high school diploma before making a fool out of yourself.
>>

RETARD!:|

Take the course called "chemistry for n00b tards" and then come back and try to argue with me.

"Run osmosis", "salt particles"?

Normal salt water does not have any salt particles, unless it is fully saturated, which is rarely the case. Normal water has IONS, in order to get rid of those ions, you would have to apply electricity - stick two electrodes, run electricity through the water. Positive electrodes attract negative ions, negative electrode positive ions.
Another method is to mix the water with appropriate chemicals (depends on what ions are in the water and on the readtivity series) which will cause a precipitate to form, which you can get rid of using a centrifuge.

You cannot just put a membrane in water and hope it will catch the ions.

in conclusion: you are a fucking retard. Go away and don't come back.

What's your next thread gonna about? Blaming your math teacher for failing you, cuz you divided by zero?

I dont know about you people, but this thread has tought me a lot.

From now on when I start to work on my rig, I always pour DE-IONIZED water in my case, before doing anything. DE-IONIZED water does not conduct electricity, so it is very safe to work! This way I dont have to unplug everytime.

Did I get right...

Copied from another thread:

"I wish people would get off DocSmarts' back. True he made a mistake, we all make mistakes sometimes, but he learned his lesson didn't he? Should we bash him for life because he made a mistake that only costed him money, it didn't cost anyone here anything, it only costed him! Please stop. It just is nasty. "

Awwwww you mean they banned him? That sucks.

I think the only reason why this thread hasn't been locked yet is because the mods are rolling on the floor and they can't reach the mouse....

First off, LMAO!

Let's not bash this guy too much. Yes, he messed up, and sadly, shared his story with us. Even worse, he blamed AMD for it, and tried to get a refund.

I'm an AMD fan too (lovin' it with my AMD Athlon XP 1600+ and Soyo Dragon+) , but we should let this go.

C'mon fellas!

I think the main reason this thread has caught the attention of a lot of people is that after doing something really stupid he blamed AMD. The AMD vs Intel topic is always a hot buttom around here. Also this thread is one of the funniest things I have read in a long time.

:disgust::Q:frown:

If it will make you feel better I fried a few intel/amd cpus with water cooling. I finally gave up on the water cooling, not for every day user who wants stability.

Try a MSI/Epox/Gigabyte motherboard. May want to stick with AMD, it is a much cheaper solution.

Why stop the bashing already? Firstly, what he was planning on doing - getting a refund for his own mistakes - is called fraud. Fraud is illegal, and raises prices of things. Second, this is probably the funniest thread ever seen in General Hardware.
Anyone planning on ripping off a company by doing that deserves to be humiliated and smacked around like this.

You are right, if most of the people in this forum were stupid enough to do what you say you did (which is highly questionable), they would have sense enough not to let everyone else know how stupid they were.

But, being as how you made this story up in the first place, I guess you just wanted to increase everyone's number of posts. Thanks for an unbelieveably stupid nef thread.
