My computer wont turn on after I took out the hard drive and RAM and put them back.

Now when I turn it on, I hear long beeps. I looked into the mobo manual and it indicated a problem with the RAM.

I have tried placing the RAM in another slot, putting new RAM and also clearing the CMOS.

Nothing works!

Celeron D 352
ECS-865G-M8
512MB DDR400 Crucial Rendition

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Also, I am 100% sure it's not the RAM. I have tested it on another computer and it works. I have also put new RAM into the system and it still beeps.

Possibilities: you damaged something on the board removing the ram or hard drive; you shifted the board and now there is a short; you bumped a chip or component and damaged it or knocked it loose; you knocked a plug loose; you dropped something onto or under the board that is causing a short.

Just a few off the top of my head. I would pull it out of the case and lay everything out on a piece of cardboard or wooden tabletop and connect just the bare minimum: proc; one stick of ram; power supply. See if you get the same error code or if it POSTs. If you get the same error you'll be in position to inspect everything carefully and try some different combinations. If you don't get the error start connecting the rest of the stuff back up. If you get it all in and still no error put it back in the case.

Have you tried booting with the HD disconnected? Obviously that would only get you so far but if you boot and get "No boot device found" or similar then at least you've ruled out mobo and RAM and ID'd the HD as the culprit.

In pic1 it looks like your HD cable is backwards. Isn't pin 1 (where the red stripe should be) beside the power connector? (It usually is).

Why were the HD & RAM removed in the first place?

Is the heatsink properly seated? How is the CPU fan running (seem fast as expected)? Are you sure the CPU is good? Have you reset the BIOS (there's usually a jumper for this)?

ECS uses Award BIOS right?

I'm gonna have to jump on the bandwagon and agree with thorin here.
I've never seen an IDE cable or a hard drive where the red stripe faces away from the power connector ....

I've had issues in the past with a faulty IDE cable (had a hole in one of the wires) caused my entire system not to post at all.... I would imagine an IDE cable plugged in upside down would confuse the heck out of the bios and give you some major trouble as well.
