What's with the no enlish part? Why does that even matter? I don't remember anything that was said in that game being instructions... just humor. Plus you said you translated for him, so the whole "no english" thing was rendered moot as it ended up being in his language anyway.

really? i was confused at first but as soon as i figured out the gun which took less than 5 min i didnt have any trouble with the rest of the game.

I think not being able to understand Glados would take all the fun out of the game I hope you translated well and used a robot voice while speaking to your cousin.

P.S. I think Portal 2 was less challenging than portal 1, even it was overall a better game. I did have one level I spent a while on and finally beat and only later realized I had made the level much more challenging than it needed to be and beat it in entirely the wrong manner.

Yeah, Portal is cool. And it definitely transcends language through the use of good iconography and brilliant level design.

I thought it was a superb creation; most fun I've had with a video game in a long time.

I just started the game up again and muted my volume. The game is so straightforward and intuitive there is nothing you would need language-wise to play/pass it.

I must be "spatially challenged", but my grandson who was about 11 or 12 at the time was much better at Portal than I was. He could have finished the game without any problem, but just got kind of bored with it and quit near the end.
