Miata.. okay whateever, I've driven one and they're fun.

But TWO TSX's? They aren't THAT great of a car.

And if your dad likes it so much he can borrow your moms.

Why have two cars of the same kind..? It just seems.. stupid.

Pot, meet kettle.
Another shining example.

owned?

anyways, a lot of you guys are dissing the OP's dad's decision. whocares what he thinks and likes? he's financially stable to buy such a vehicle, and loves the car, so why the hell not? It's not a bad car by any stretch of imagination.

Is it me or does it seem like ATOT has a disproportionate share of individuals who live in tropical/warm locales, in newer housing and drive fairly pricey late-model import sedans? It's like a stereotype.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with having more than one of the same car, my family is a great example... we currently have 3 Hyundai Elantra GT hatches:

pic

From left to right - Mine (2005), Dad's (2005), Mom's (2006). Prior to that we had 4 Saturns, 3 SL1s and an SL2. If his Dad likes the car, why shouldn't he buy one? I bought my car precisely because I was looking for a new car, and liked Mom's Elantra when I had the chance to drive it. Had it for two years now and I love it to death.

This is nice, I love to see all of those spending other people's money and telling them what they should have.

If there was truly a "problem" with the TSX from a mechanical or a price standpoint then I could understand the hostility, however it seems from reading the bulk of these reponses that the problems are more emotional bias than much else.

Some think a german overpriced car would be a better option, whereas others feel that these cars are only reserved for a certain age group and or class of people and shouldn't be purchased by those who are outside of that group....

All I can say is pathetic, if the parents like the cars, and there is nothing "wrong" with the cars then who cares, more power to them.

Dude, before I saw the pic, I thought I might've known you. One of my good friends and his family all have Hyundais, including 2 or 3 elantras. They say Saab owners have the brand loyalty of smokers, but Hyundai is starting to drum up the same level of support.

Perfectly fine. An automatic TSX is a waste anyway. I sure as hell would bet that TSX is better than that VW.

My parents may have made mistakes, but they spent almost as much money on TVs than this guys dad did on his TSX.

Secondly, I just don't understand the point of having essentially two identical cars.

Even for practical reasons, having a different car offers more versatility.

I just don't get the point.

Given how many TVs we bought, and the size and type.

It doesn't hurt my cause at all.

For 2007, the 6MT TL is only available in the Type-S version. You can no longer purchase a 6MT TL, it must be a 6MT TL-S.

Congrats on the car purchase. Be sure to join AcuraZine, I moderate forum over there...
