WTF? Your parents are having a mid-life crisis or something?

TSXs are rich hot chick 16 yr old birthday gift cars, nice and cute cars, but one of each for middle age parents? Talk to your parents, this may be a subtle outcry for something else going on in their life.

This is nice, I love to see all of those spending other people's money and telling them what they should have.

If there was truly a "problem" with the TSX from a mechanical or a price standpoint then I could understand the hostility, however it seems from reading the bulk of these reponses that the problems are more emotional bias than much else.

Some think a german overpriced car would be a better option, whereas others feel that these cars are only reserved for a certain age group and or class of people and shouldn't be purchased by those who are outside of that group....

All I can say is pathetic, if the parents like the cars, and there is nothing "wrong" with the cars then who cares, more power to them.

i actually love how BMWs drive, i've driven a lot of the newer ones at driving events and such.

I've never driven an x5, but my mom has an x3 3.0 and considering its an SUV it does drive a lot better than a lot of cars (like say a camry or something).

That said, my moms x3 had something like 4 recalls/tsbs the first year, which was really annoynig.

Awesome! After seeing my TSX, my parents decided to check out the Acura line-up, and finally settled on a 2007 RL.

The only thing better than one TSX is two TSXs

ohhh and RL. nice car. I actually like its understated look and the interior is ridiculously nice.

Secondly, I just don't understand the point of having essentially two identical cars.

Even for practical reasons, having a different car offers more versatility.

I just don't get the point.

it's not your flipping money, you don't have to be so critical about it.

if he likes the car, then it's his choice.

From left to right - Mine (2005), Dad's (2005), Mom's (2006). Prior to that we had 4 Saturns, 3 SL1s and an SL2. If his Dad likes the car, why shouldn't he buy one? I bought my car precisely because I was looking for a new car, and liked Mom's Elantra when I had the chance to drive it. Had it for two years now and I love it to death.

No love for the Sonata?

Nah, when Dad needed a new car he got Mom's "old" one and she got the new one... she needs a hatch for all her gardening stuff, so no Sonata... they did drive an '06 Sonata but the Elantra won out because of the hatch.

Dude, before I saw the pic, I thought I might've known you. One of my good friends and his family all have Hyundais, including 2 or 3 elantras. They say Saab owners have the brand loyalty of smokers, but Hyundai is starting to drum up the same level of support.

Coincidences FTW... I don't see anything wrong with brand loyalty, as long as the product is good, why not keep buying them? That's partly the reason we quit buying Saturns (well that and Saturn dropped the wagon, and I really wanted a wagon/hatch for my next car).
