"No son you dont need a car!!"

- 2 days later, on monday -

"Dad I need a ride to riverside" 60 miles away, i go to school there
"Carpool with someone."
"Nobody else is here."
"Take the train tomorrow."
"I have my computer here" <-- 19" flat screen monitor + steel midtower with 2 hard drives, three optical drives, and a PAL8045
"Leave it here for the week, and take the train at 6:46 in the morning even though you are already short on sleep!!!!111111 RAH RAH RAH!!!!!"

GAH! :disgust:

edit: the SOB wont let me hang my computer off of my elbow (wrapping with electical cable, hanging on the arm) and hold my monitor for the train trip :|

edit 2: The_good_guy of ATOT is giving me a ride. many thanks to him!!
I'll update when i get to riverside....if you dont hear from me :Q

is your dad reluctant to give you a ride because he is busy or because he is lazy?

If it makes you feel any worse, I wouldn't let you take a computer and monitors on the train either...

Ok that makes sense. Well I hate your situation and maybe you should sit down with your parents and talk. Explain to them you are in college early and living as far away from home as you do, that you must have personal transportation. Were they not a big part of going to college early? Good luck.

Hellhole? It doesn't sound that bad to me. Let's see...they're paying for your college education right now, and it sounds like a pretty nice computer which I assume they bought for you (directly or indirectly). Putting car keys in the hands of a sixteen year old is a risky proposition, as well as an expensive one. Maybe your parents don't think you're ready, or maybe they're just tapped out.

When I was 16 my dad was really stupid too. Then amazingly as I got older, he got alot smarter.
F'n wierd I know, but now I'm 36 and I STILL ask him for advice.
Freaky stuff man.

My Lord! You speak like some little child in high school. If it weren't for your lame thread about the bet you made with your roommate about getting laid where you revealed your age, I would have sworn that you were some little kid. Grow up! You have the liberty of not living with your parents and the liberty of public transportation. Listen kid, 16 years is not an age to be babied. Fend for yourself and quit disrespecting your father because he won't baby you. You have no grounds to . . . until at least you are willing to fend for yourself. Grow up! :|

Yeah, it's funny how that works.

Still, I think the parents should help him bring his computer to school. The train's fine as far as I'm concerned for getting to school and back, but not for moving stuff.
