My day was terrible, should have stayed in bed. . .

Got up - 1st mistake.

Went to mow yard.

Sraped a large chunk of paint off of our front porch. . . (don't even ask)

Went to Walmart to match the paint. . .

Found out I had to buy a gallon of it (same everywhere else too, I called).

The match wasn't perfect, just a little lighter. To be fair I was doing it by approximating with a color card with a 4x6 I printed off. . .

Found out when I got back, I left the parking brake on - the rear tire was smoking gahhhhh!

Went and paid mechanic 13 bucks to check it out - it was fine thank goodness.

scraped and cleaned the front porch, painting ourselves into the house for 12 hours at least. . . - we have no back door).

It took a 'very tiny' bit of the gallon - a pint would have been sufficient. . .

Just dropped a hunk of meat on the kitchen floor making a big mess. . .

Walking to get the mop I stubbed my toe.

Son just said his computer won't boot. . .

Sigh

Hope the landlord doesn't mind the slight color change. It looks better now, it was all faded and scratched up from people moving in and out. . .

EDIT: Toe update - - it is bleeding - and I think I knocked the nail off, it is tore back raised above the bed. . . ooowwwwwww. . .

EDIT #2 - just realized that I did not have the bottle of beer in the fridge like I thought for the beer brats I WAS going to make. . . Double sigh

Sorry you had a bad day.

As far as the paint not matching and having to buy a gallon.... many stores let you buy a tester pot. It is like 4-6 oz to see if you like to color. Or you could have just used the gallon to paint the entire porch, which is what i would have had my guy do in that case or that one little light patch would have driven me nuts.

You put ice on the toe, right?

Meat on floor... 3 second rule and you are good to go. When we were kids and dropped something.... we used to kiss it up to God to make it edible again, hahaha!

Glad it only cost you $13 to find out your car was ok. Beats not checking then having to fork out big $$$ to fix something major.

Grab a beer before looking at the computer. Get that sorted and have a many more beers!

Hope you feel better soon.

I went to work this morning to finish some shit up since it's the end of our fiscal year. It normally takes 25 minutes to drive there Monday-Friday. It took 35 in WTF traffic today. Got there and the fucking systems were down. They *MIGHT* be back up tomorrow. If they're not, I'm gonna have to work alllllll day Monday.

Yea, in the grand scheme of things - it wasn't too bad.

His computer has been dying a slow death for a while. I'm about to let him inherit mine and me get a newer one.

He has an athlon 1600 xp with 2 gigs of ram and a 74 gig raptor with a radeon 9500 - wasn't a bad system and still runs most everything he wasnts to run - however, it started not wanting to boot and had a system error that there was no hard drive.

Oddly enough, I gave him an ubuntu disc so he could surf until I could fix it, and he hit boot operating system on hard drive, and then it would boot. I tired fixing the MBR - but that had no effect. So for the last year, he has just kept an ubuntu disc in the drive and has been fine. Now even when he does it in Ubuntu's loader - it doesn't boot the OS. I'm going to try a format and reinstall, and a hard drive swap - I have another laying around. If that doesn't work, I'll chalk it up to time for him and I to upgrade. Even if he gets my old system, I have a core 2 due with 2 gigs and a decent vid card - so he'll get a decent upgrade either way.

Yea, we painted the whole thing. . .

The meat was washed and is being cooked now

My wife has cruelly been laughing at me - she gets a kick out of these days. I have them regularly about 1 every 6 months, and she thinks it is funny and stays away from me (she says she doesn't want anything to happen to her -- ROFL!)

Wish I had some beers

haha

you realize that you could have taken a small sample of the paint (scrape it off) and they would have used technology to get you an exact matching color, right?

Just FYI. Sorry about your bad day.

I tried getting enough off to matter and I couldn't. I took a 4x6 and printed it off at the photo center, and matched from that. Of course my camera exposure isn't perfect I guess. . .

It looks fine, just a change.

Hopefully, the landlord will just be please we took care of it.

Check the capacitors on the motherboard for leakage.

Hmmm....so your pain amuses her? Are you sure she hasn't been deliberately sabotaging you, just for her own amusement?
I'd keep an eye out for trip-wires in the house, laxative in your beer, and spike pits in the yard.

definitely sounds like a hdd failure, but im not as tech savvy (or even close) as some of the other members on this board. but, your son sounds like he's covered in any case.

make a run to the grocery store and get a beer. i can't wait till im done studying for the day and drinking a beer in a bar. i just hate nyc on sat nights when shit is too crowded. hopefully i can find a good, low key bar

lol...I had to be up at 4:30 am to supervise the four Marines under me while they got reinspected today. One of them failed so we all failed. They were ready by 6:00 AM and we waited outside of our doors until 12:30PM when gunny finally decided to show up.

Last night sucked too.

I feel you OP, I tend to have bad shit all happen at once to me also, it sucks but when it happens it happens. I do however like having a few months with no troubles, then 1 bad day as opposed to a few months with a few things happening per week. I get all my bad shit out of the way in one day, it's very efficient. I know a lot of people will say "there's no such thing as luck" but I disagree with that.

Update again : 20% chance of rain and it rains torrentially, gets the porch I painted 6 hours before wet, and due to it not being dry yet, all starts to bubble up.

How do I fix that? Sheeeeeeesh!
