Pulling out of impound lot I shift from reverse to drive too quick, and peel out a little. Another ticket for reckless driving from the same asshole that gave me my 3 earlier in the day.

Read up. If you decide to fight it, you'll probably find that the judge doesn't appreciate your "keeping it real" with him anymore than that cop did, and, since the man is obviously out to get you, he might toss you in a cozy little cell just to be a dick about it.

Here in CA an officer can't impound your car on a suspended or revoked license unless there is a proper service on file. We pull people over all the time who's license status is "suspended: service needed". They are notified but not cited. This includes when someone was mailed the info and the letter was not returned unclaimed: it still doesn't count, has to be "verbal or personal service". I have talked to many other departments around the country and got the impression it is like this everywhere, but I could be wrong.

It's kind of like a restraining order--a person can't be arrested for violating one unless they have been served already.


I don't know enough about this specific state's setup to know if this qualifies the story as BS or not, just wanted to throw in this info.
