My 2 German shepherds do this one in awhile, I generally pull up on the leash on both of them and then they get no leverage to pull me. Dogs can't really pull much with their hind legs. It does hurt that I can carry both of them if need be (both are 80lbs). However good/bad it is, idc they'll deal with it.

I've already dislocated the other shoulder... swimming.

I can imagine going to the hospital for this one. Uhhh, ya, this is my 2nd shoulder issue. First one dislocated swimming, 2nd one popped out walking dogs.

Well at least you already live in FL. I am sure they are used to old timers breaking things on simple task all the time. :awe:

I pass this little chihuahua on the corner every day and then another corner with two dogs (permanently outside ).

They go apeshit...9 times out of 10 my dog just ignores them and even pisses on them through the fence.

that 1 out of 10 is a workout. He is a nearly 2 year old 60lb cattle dog mix...I also took on a little 11 year old corgi/golden mix with 3 legs that 1 time out of 10 goes off on those dogs.

There is a good collar to use called a Martingale.

Find a dog training class/course/club. I have seen small women (trainers) handle full grown Great Danes like they were chihuahuas. It did take her about 3/4 around the loop to get the dog under control, but it is possible. The owner previously had absolutely no control ... probably still doesn't. But, owners can be pretty sappy.

Letting the animal know who is control not to mention that there is control ... 'tis a wondrous thing to behold.
