My dog just played a practical joke on me

Yes... I just got pwned by my dog.

I let him out to pee right before bed time. Normally he runs out and pees... comes right back in...

Tonight he ran across the street to my neighbors house.

To set the scene... My neighbors have a huge house that sits on top of a large car port area. In this car port they have a HUGE rotweiller. He's a big sweetie but he barks like crazy if anyone goes near the house...

So, my dog runs over there. Oddly enough the dog does't bark which makes me think he's in on it. I'm calling him, trying to be kind of quiet because it's late and I don't want to wake up their dog. I can tell he's rooting through the garbage or something over there so I finally go over to get him. Now I'm in the car port. Just before the Rot goes off and all the lights come on I hear this *click click click* of little toe nails running across the street back to my house.

Grrr... So there I am in my neighbor's car port going "Ummm hi..." while my dog is on my porch laughing at me.

Oh yes... he was laughing. He's still laughing.

Nah, dog went to check out trash. Neighbors checking out what was going on scared away dog, and left you sitting there like an idiot.

I don't think dogs can laugh. Just wag they're tails and hop around a bit.

Agreed, I walk my dog late at night as I don't get home till 11:30, my biggest problem is people
who let their dog out without supervision or a leash. Often a dog will see the street around his/her
home as "territory" and will run into the street to try to drive off perceived intruders.

Heh, my one my teachers had a talking parrot and it would get her cats, by calling "here kitty kitty" on top of a ledge or a shelf or something. Then when the cat came by, the parrot would knock something over on them! She said the cats never learned...
