My other dog, Lucky passed away on Sunday. Since Timber passed away two months ago, her health had declined. She developed laryngeal paralysis that also uncovered that she had lumps on her liver, enlarged adrenaline glands and spleen issues. Her health had been stable for the last couple of weeks. On Saturday, she went hiking in the Reading town forest and sun bathed in the backyard. Sunday morning, she ate canned food but didn't touch anything else. Later in the day, she walked out to the car with no issues but when we got to our destination, she stood but wouldn't move with one of her back feet curled up. I carried her back to the car. When we got home, she wouldn't get out of the car. I carried her into the house and laid her on her bed. She started to breath heavily and pee'd all over. After cleaning her up, she seemed alright.

She then made a few quiet whines then lifted her head up and just toppled over. I carried her into the car and noticed that she had stopped breathing. I gave her CPR and she appeared to breath a little.

When I got her to the hospital, she barely had a pulse and passed away as she was being carted into the back of the hospital. The attending doctor thinks she had a stroke. She thought, possibly, we didn't catch something in the ultrasound and she bled causing the stroke. I'm hoping it wasn't painful for her.

It's weird not having my two furry girls with me. Still in shock of how it ended so quickly for her. I wish I could have spent more time beforehand. At the hospital, it was tough to finally walk away from her. Mojo kept licking her face and nudging her, trying to wake her up.

Though she could be a bitch and a pain in the ass, she was a good girl. She went through a lot. Almost being culled at birth b/c she didn't have a ridge to cancer/chemotherapy at 10 months which the oncologist didn't believe she'd live to be five b/c of the aggressiveness of the cancer at such a young age then disc surgery at age five and made a strong come back, living to the age of eleven.

Another pet-death thread, another day that I suddenly become sad for the day.

I'm sorry your friend was taken from you.

I'm sorry for your loss. I was crushed when I lost my spanador 2 years ago. I just hope that I get the same amount of time from my beagle who turned 2 last month.

Yeah, I still have fond thoughts of one of my dogs who died nearly 15 years ago. Since then I lost another, and have one left. I don't know what I'll do when he goes.

OP, sorry for your loss.

That was a good looking dog that was taken too soon. The pictures tell a story of fun with a caring owner. Thats really all she could have asked for.

I wish you well in your time of loss.

I lost my dog a year ago. I still think of him sometimes. Just be thankful for all the time you guys got to spend together -- that's a blessing that can never be taken away.

I lost a furry friend this year as well, so I know what you're going through.
