7 year old pug.
We took her to the MiL's, dog always hated car travel, usually just a lot of loud breathing/hyperventilating. She always calmed down once we got her out of the car though. Well. I guess this time she couldn't calm down, hyperventilating turned into asphyxiation, no oxygen, dog passes out. Wife and I had already left MiL's at that point, we had to fly across town when MiL calls us and says the dog is unresponsive/comatose... by the time we got to the emergency vet it was too late.
Wife was inconsolable. Cried all night. Nothing I could do or say to help.
We do not have kids, Pups was all we had. It's like losing a part of you, a part of your family.
Careful to everyone about pugs... its like owning a dog with asthma.
God I miss her
