If my pet was killed by yours, I would seriously beat the sh!t out of you. I don't care if I get arrested.
I also wouldn't like to have any of you as neighbors either. If your dog killed someones pet, you should pay up. Now $2000 seems like a lot of money, but some restitution is in order.

Question: Why does it almost always turn out to be, when they find someone with a million pets at home, a cat owner? What is it about cats that people get obsessed over? Or is a cat the type of pet that weirdo, spinster women like to have?
Not many people keep pet chickens, skunks, or roosters.. let alone let them out of the house if they did. Cats are in the top 2 of house pets and are also let out of the house a lot by some families who have them. Against most dogs they stand no chance in a fight, so that's why it turns out to be a cat owner in almost every situation like this... it's not about being obsessed, but people love their pets understandably.
Your hatred of cats oozes from your post.

If you're cat is dumb enough to come into a yard with two dogs, then it is not my fault that it gets killed.
He shouldn't be held accountable for bad animal-ownership on the part of his neighbor.
I don't care, I'd ring the persons doorbell and proceed to beat the person. Like I said if I get arrested thats fine, at least I get the satisfaction of the beating.
Cats wander about, you shouldn't have ridiculous bloodthirsty dogs.
Dogs known to attack medium sized animals also are likely to attack small children.
And you really can't keep an eye out 24/7 for your animals.

1. Not if you keep your possessions on your own property. I know many people who keep their cats in their houses and have no problems.
2. Bullshit. I've known many dogs to catch the unsuspecting hummingbird or rat and they are the nicest dogs you will ever meet.
3. If you can't then you don't deserve to own any animals. Be responsible for your own property.
hummingbird or rat is not a cat.
I'm sure there isn't a sane pet owner in the world who watches their pet 24/7.
I'd have a feeling I'd beat you especially hard because you are quite arrogant and un-neighborly.
If I see my pet attacking another person pet cat or dog, I immediately scold it to make that kind of behavior cease.

I am one of those crazy cat ladies. i dont have a house full... but i have nine at the moment. the most i had at any one time was thirteen. i take the ones that are homeless, helpless, abused, mistreated and neglected. i pay out of pocket to get them healthy, fixed and vaccinated then find them homes privately. the ones that will never be placed... missing paw, or tail or emotionally problematic, or just too old... will live with me forever. i do not collect them. i just adore cats and want to help them as much as i can on my limited budget.
to the OP: Tell the owner that you are very sorry for her loss, but her cat is her responsibility and if she was so concerned with it's safety... she would have kept it at home, indoors. the death of the cat, while sad and tramatic for her is due to her own lack of protecting her pet.
