For the vids i used a weapons cheat..but i made sure it didnt save at all . I only cheat in games after i beat it atleast one time with no cheats!

yeah i played doom 3 for an hour and a half tonight. its pretty creepy gave me that half life eerie feeling like i didnt know what to expect plus its really dark and u need to use the flashlight a lot and thats when things pop out and u gotta switch to your gun

I really like how they made the areas dark becuase it brings a lot of use to the flashlight. There is nothing like walking into a room, the ligts turn out, and u take out ur flashlight only to see a deamon thing standing right next to you. The game really does a good job scaring you .

I'm trying to get everyone to post what realworld sweetspots they have for playing doom3, so if you guys wanna go post what your playing at that would be great.

At least some duct tape, so you can tape the flash light to your weapons.

After watching the videos, I think I actually won't rush out to buy it. I'll wait at least 6 months or so till I can maybe get it on eBay for $<20. I just don't get the big brouha ha?

It just looks like every FPS 'Shoot-em-up' type game where all you do is just kill everything that moves. Not too interesting.

I'm going the opposite way now. I was going to wait a few months, but these video's have me in the mood to go out and try to pick it up after work today. I don't know if I want to thank sirplayalot or curse him.

I picked up a copy of Doom 3 and played a little bit myself. Needless to say, I HAVE to upgrade my computer ASAP. I played at 640x480 on medium settings and things were still a little bit choppy. That being said, however...

Sure, it's a simple FPS where you blow everything away in sight. But unlike a lot of other FPS that I've played, Doom 3 was CONSTANTLY keeping me on edge. I couldn't believe how much I was screaming like a little girl whenever the newest zombie/monster/whatever would show up. I hadn't been this scared since I played the original Doom over 10 years ago.

Considering that an upgrade will only make things better, oh boy...

Anyway, regardless of whether you get it now or get it later, this is a must-buy. It's that good.

So true. I went nuts when I walked outside for the first time. Even though it was such a small area, I walked around so much that I ran out of oxygen!

Thanks but i got a host. I didnt get into any out door areas except for the transfer from one building to another (oxygen was limited) so i couldnt get that, sorry.

You'll get the chainsaw later on... i didn't bother using it for almost two hours, until i ran out of ammo, and then equipped the chainsaw and saw how kickass it was. And now instead of using the handgun to kill the easy mobs, i use the chainsaw.

Would ahving a A64 3000+ instead of the 3200+ in your setup hinder performace? Would it be noticable?
