My dream boy/girl

Uhmm . . . I don't know about boy and girl. But my dream man would be the following:

First off his physique would have to be satisfying. He must be slender or muscular (not excessively).
He must always keep in shape.
He's got to have a chiseled face or a pretty face, but no ugly face.
He's got to be at least 6' tall.
He's got to know how to cook and love cooking.
He's got to be someone who isn't a fan of eating out.
He must share my philosophy as far as religion.
He must not be a die-hard political liberal or conservative.
He must be willing to respect my belief, as I would his belief.
Our philosophy on how to raise any kids we have must be on the same spectrum.
He should be willing to adopt kids should things come to that.
He must have my type of taste in music, including jazz, classical, new age, etc. No hard rock or harcore rap.
If he can play a musical instrument, especially the piano, it's a plus.
He must be willing to give me some space, as I don't like one's world revolving around me.
If he's got a deep voice, that's a plus score.
I don't mind if he's blonde or brunette.
Don't be freakin' hairy. Grrr! Shave them if you want me 'cuz I don't care if people call it gay, but I'm not attracted to hairy men (I mean on chest, arm, etc.).
Curly hair is cool, but not a necessity.
He's got to be able to carry a conversation.
His sense of humour should be one that is compatible with mine.
He likes to travel and looks forward to doing so when we're together.
Oh, how could I forget: Courtesy is sooooo important. If any man has other characteristics but isn't courteous, you can forget him.
He's also got to be polite/respectful.
He can't be a male slut.
Oops! Yet another one: Honesty! If he isn't honest with me, he'll get the biggest pounding in his life.

Okay, this is getting too much. If you want to know the kind of guy I'm attracted to: It's Jason Guy on BB3 (Big Brother 3). I swear that guy would have been my signifcant other despite his tough mum had he not exhibited some wimpy character. I still like him though.

She must accept my stubborness and the fact that I bitch a lot. She already does. I'm engaged and happy.

If you're talking in terms of looks... Jessica Alba (1, 2, 3) is the epitome of beauty.

Right now? Everything that my wife is.

Before meeting my wife? Nothing that my wife is. Well except for a few personality traits that kept my interest.

It's like getting a present for christmas you never thought about wanting, and at first look didn't seem too interesting, but after having it for awhile you realize it is your favorite present you've ever gotten.

in the order that they came to mind (i am listening to a sinatra song at this moment)

- like songs by sinatra and others
- like ska + punk + chinese pop
- good understanding of computers (so i don't have to fix everything )
- tolerant, like doesn't get angry just because somebody is racist or something
- openminded... like they don't make fun of "8 mile" never having seen it, just because eminem is in it
- have a crush on meg ryan
- enjoy watching action comedies, action movies, romantic comedies, and dumb comedies
- if she is religious, she can't be freaky religious. like religious in a silent way is good
- never says stuff like "
, that is sooo immature"
- be fit.. brunette is a plus, thick-black-rim librarian glasses is a double plus!
- intelligent
- playful, silly, tidbit of girlish frivolty that she tries to hide because she knows it's silly
- doesn't see anything wrong with calling each other just to study (not much talking)
- doesn't see anything wrong with hopping a random bus to see where it takes us
- finds the idea of "furries" hilarious, not repulsive
- likes southpark, documentaries
- have little idiosyncracies that endear her to me
- drags me to do stuff that i normally would never have done, but enjoy doing and enjoy the memories of
- has some ambition in life

*sigh*

Well I'm pretty happy being single. I dunno if I really have a dream gal.
Also, I haven't spent any time dating or anything, so I don't know what kind of things in a woman would really bug me...and I guess to a lesser degree what would really draw me. So far there is nothing that really draws me enough to make me want to date anyone

But there are some qualities that I can think of.

- Honest...I have learned the value of honesty the hard way, and would require it in a girlfriend.
- Understands that I need time to myself...not that I would completely neglect her, but if I don't have time to myself I go insane.
- Should respect that I'm a computer guy...she doesn't have to love computers, and she's well within her rights to be annoyed if I ignore her in favour of my computer, but if she thinks I'm a total loser because I like my computer, and never wants me to play with it, then I'll get annoyed fast. Kinda goes with the one above, If she lets me have my time to myself with my computer, then we get two birds with one stone and she can have the rest of my time.
- Does not want kids...I do not want to have Children...so if I'm to have any sort of lasting relationship she better not either. I don't really hate kids or anything, I just don't want any.
- Nice smile and warm eyes.
- Physically attractive to me, I'm not going to lie and say it doesn't matter to me. However, I have my own view of what's attractive, she doesn't have to be a maxim covergirl, in fact looking like that is often a strike against. But in my eyes, she must be attractive.
- Intelligence is really sexy...whatever her chosen field, she should be good at it and smart.
- Affectionate and Snuggly...the one thing that some days makes me wish I wasn't single is that I don't get to snuggle nearly enough

I dunno...aside from the not wanting kids thing, there is really nothing important I have to say most of this list is pretty standard I would think
I'm sure there are plenty of things that could get added to this list if I really tried, and there are probably some things that belong on this list that I don't know about and won't unless I started dating.

Oh yeah...She better not mind that I am listening to the music from the boss of final fantasy X at a volume that kinda makes my head hurt This is kind of a double point...it A) makes me a huge geek and B) for those that haven't had the joy of beating FFX, this song is pretty heavy metal.
So I'm a huge geek that likes loud heavy metal...so she better be okay with that

And non-sexual freindship would be a big plus. Beauty fades, and Sex wanes, but I'll still need someone to talk with over breakfast. Especially in my case since I don't have much of a sex drive

Of course...given the two bits of information that I don't want kids and don't have much of a sex drive....there's not a whole lot of incentive for me to have a girlfriend over friends that are female. Except the occasional desire for a good snuggle

wg, you know what's really odd? Shortly before meeting The One my friends and I played a game where we extensively listed qualities (physical, personality, other stuff) and then assessed our ideal person. I discovered that I had a loooong-standing pattern of dating a certain type of guy (in various packages) and that "he" or they weren't really what I was interested in. Met The One the very next week --looking back, I probably would have been oblivious to him if I hadn't figured that out :Q

okay, this's been up for a while, might as well add my own

NOT elitist, especially when it comes to things like alcohol and marijuana. If you haven't done it, don't look down on others.
Attractive, even if i'm the only one who thinks so
Must have a defining quirk or something to make them pretty unique.
Must like me for my good and bad traits (i.e. like me because i'm a dork, not like me, but think i'm a dork - in a bad way)
Must have an even temper.
Must be pretty free about money. (i don't mind paying, but please pitch in sometimes or at least feel bad)

other than that anything else is fine. not too much of an age difference, although i've never gone out with a younger girl. willing to put out is a nice thing but not a necessity. basically if i could hold a conversation with you at starbucks, watch a movie with you, come back and chat, then come back on AIM and chat, and neither of us are bored, you're pretty much a-okay in my book. if i could show off your extremely good looks to my friends, smoke out with you and listen to some miles davis, and eat carl's jr. every other day, then please PM me

j/k not that desperate.

I married her......

We all went out to a show. I forget who was playing...

Amanda... (a long standing bacholorette) was saying how she can never meet the right guy... how she doesn't know any guys... I told her she was crazy that she knows a ton of guys... and they're all good guys too...
Neither myself nor my wife will forget what happened next she said "I don't ever date my friends..."
With incredulity I stared at her and said, "Does that mean you only date your enemies?"

Several years later my wife was visiting from school,we've been friends since she was 16 (I'm 2 years older) we went to a small free-form jazz jam and out of the blue, while sitting next to each other... which we had done at a hundred other shows... we fell in love. In that moment we were both struck by something and it has propelled us through an unexpected pregnancy and the ensuing upheaval... all of which we survived with love (and even affection ) intact....
Of many couples we know that were pregnant at the same time as us... we are the only ones that are still together and we're even happy.
The success of a relationship of course depends on many things. I don't wish to say that it is solely based on our long friendship, but I do maintain that it was our intentional avoidance of "friend zone" and all that other BS.

Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove....

You do have a point there, Jfur. But I'll never bend my rules . . . even if it means I'll remain single for the rest of my life. And in that case, I'll just have a male companion. :Q I realised what terirble mistake I made bending the rules. I don't think that my ideal guy is unrealistic really . . . *ahem* . . . we'll just leave it at that. But no compromises here. Even if I shrunk my list, five things will still remain important: His physical appearance (including body, his voice and facial look), isn't fond of eating out, his choice of music, courtesy and respect, and his religious standing. Uh-oh! Did I forget? No drugs or excessive drinking. If he fails in any of these, you can forget it. I won't compromise at all. Kids isn't really an issue, as I really am not bent on having any; and I have my reservations anyway.

[Noriaki:] "However, I have my own view of what's attractive, she doesn't have to be a maxim covergirl, in fact looking like that is often a strike against. But in my eyes, she must be attractive."

Oh, oh, oh! What's that supposed to mean? Are you subscribing to that saying that he who marries beauty marries trouble? :Q

Noriaki, no problem there since you have conceded that you aren't really looking for a lady. But you better know that any man with whom I hook up has got to be willing to give up his computer addictions. I mean, I would want to give up some addictions of mine, so I expect the same of him. You will not deny me the quality time for some crappy computer game or computer related stuff. If he ever does that, you can forget him. And I guess that's why he must be someone who spends a limited time on the computer. As much as I do like my computer, I won't replace my significant other with my PC. Whilst I love some breathing space, I also want to spend quality time with my significant other for a healthy relationsip.

Speaking of . . . you can actually find a female friend who doesn't mind a snuggle. :Q

P.S.: Storm, are we by chance related? I can give you my number if I can verify that you've got the height and are a good looking guy! :Q

Oh no ! It is an everfixed mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken.

Cheers !

"i think i met her last night hehe "

Damn! The usual cracking up! You have me laughing, Hammer09 . . . keep it coming!

Oh please! That's what an idealist thinks, but I'm not an idealist. For love is arguably a necessary condition, but it is not a sufficient condition. I easily fall in and out of love; but for anything to go past that, a man's got to prove to me that he's worth it and has something to offer past that mere feeling. I'm just not an idealist. . . .
