I'd just like to share my overclock results with my new system... and report my love for the E6420.
First, here are my specs:
Intel E6420 2.13GHz
Asus P5B Deluxe
Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 (5-5-5-15)
Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme
Scythe SFF21F 120mm
My overclock results:
CPU: 3.208GHz (so far)
FSB: 401MHz
Vcore: 1.35 (Vdroop: 1.304)
Idle: 29c/24c
Load: 43c/40c
Ran Orthos for 27 hours stable.
Since my temps are so low I would really like to push this thing as far as it can go - by going past 400Mhz. I tried running at 415MHz and within the first second, Orthos reported 'Stopped.' Could this be a memory error? My memory is rated at 5-5-5-15 and I currently have it set at 5-5-5-15 when going past 400MHz. Do I need to relax the timings a bit if Orthos stopped all of a sudden, or is that a sign of another problem?
Thanks,
Matt
