Plus I'll turn the car into an awesome cornering car as well.
Plus it's RWD (love them Canadian wintery parking lots )

Insuring under somebody elses name is not an option because I don't have any family close enough to do that, plus me and my dad are the only drivers, 1 car between us (2 with the chevette).

i'm 17 we (family) have 4 cars now
1. 84 pickup
2. 98 buick
3. 87 thunderbird
4. 93 mustang

We just got the mustang which is mine and is going in my dad's name. What we did was keep me as the primary driver of the truck *$800 a year insurance* and have the mustang have no one on it. The car came out to $276 a year. MUCHO CHEAP!

So i end up paying like 900 and not like $1500

You keep talking about how your liability shouldn't be high because the car is such a low-performer? I won't reiterate, since so many have, that liability pays for the damage to the OTHER vehicle... But you know that, because you ask &quot;What kind of damage could it possibly do?&quot; If you don't KNOW, then you have no business being on the road at all. You could TOTAL (and TOTAL means damage beyond the value of the car) ANY car at only ~20 MPH in a chevette. --Not to mention how may bones you could break/kill someone. YES, the chevette can cause plenty of damage. If you really think you can drive it around with the care of a bumper car, save a few lives and don't drive.
