I'm coming from a GTX 480

Wonder how the results will be, :hmm:

Sent from my phone using the crapper, but with clean hands.

the gtx670 would have been a killer card for 250 bucks.

I am still miffed about the Clear Sky results. I submitted a ticket with Nvidia and reported it on their forums but I doubt they will really care. there might even be some other games that are worse as that's the only ones I tested. and the reason I did test those were because those are about the only demanding games I have.

EDIT: BFG10K had a 64% improvement going from a gtx580 to a gtx680 so something is really odd there.

Congrats on the EVGA GTX 670 FTW! and Great job with the benchmarks!

Does Clear Sky have some compute stuff in there that may cause that low FPS?

it makes no sense that with those 3 settings on high the framerate went up but with those 3 settings on medium, performance went down compared to gtx570. I want to hear from BFG10K as he had a huge increase like I already mentioned. he used a different driver but everything else is working normal so I hate to go back to another driver just to test that. maybe I can get him to test the exact spot with exact settings and new driver with his gtx680.

Nice upgrade! - 50% the power + 50% performance = no brainer upgrade.

It's amazing to me how high those 5xx cards still sell for. Sell it quick while ppl are still behind curve. I sold my 580 to some fool for $380.

yeah... it does seem odd that it drops below a GTX 570... Do I need to have the game to test this benchmark? I think they have a benchmark suite to download and test:

If this is the correct one, I'll test it with my GTX 670 to see if the same thing will happen... I just sold my EVGA GTX 570 on ebay so I can't test on it anymore... I listed it for $200 bucks and it sold in less than 5 minutes...

Maybe you're throttling down due to Clear Sky engaging the GPU more intensely than other games?

nope not all as I have been watching clocks. I think it was some type of conflict with Precision. after a forced reboot from the blue screen Clear Sky runs like it should.

Min, Max, Avg
61, 117, 78.764

that is an 80% increase over the gtx570 at same settings.

What about a subjective noise level comparison of the two cards?
both cards are pretty darn quiet. the gtx670 sounds deeper because its a blower where as my non reference cooled gtx570 was just a regular fan in the middle of the card. you really have to stick your head down there to notice either card though.

Clear Sky with all max settings including 4x AA

GTX570
Min, Max, Avg
10, 27, 17.151

GTX670
Min, Max, Avg
16, 39, 24.868

ok I saved the one anomaly for last. I have no idea what is going on here in Clear Sky as my gpu was ramping up fine so it must be a driver issue. it seems odd that on full max settings it was faster than GTX570 but on reduced settings it was slower than the GTX570.

Clear Sky with max settings except sun quality, sun rays and SSAO lowered to medium but still 4x AA

GTX570
Min, Max, Avg
30, 60, 43.405

GTX670
Min, Max, Avg
22, 46, 31.576 (WTF?)

EDIT:

after a forced reboot from a blue screen during testing of Clear Sky the game now runs like it should so go figure.

GTX670
Min, Max, Avg
61, 117, 78.764
Hi. Thanks for sharing.

I tried to run STALKER : Clear Sky on my main PC (with GTX 690 Quad-SLI), and I got severe graphical artifacts.
So, I tried the game on my second PC (with 560Ti), the results were the same - graphical artifacts.
They both were using the latest Forceware v301.42 WHQL. I'm guessing this is a driver issue.

Clear Sky has run like crap for me since GTX 680 launched. I don't know what the deal is and I've yet to see a response from Nvidia anytime that one of these threads pop up on their forums.

There are a few other games that run like crap on Kepler too. GTA4 is another one for most people.

it seemed to run fine for me on the 670. the tiny little bit of stutter in that game at the very beginning is the game itself.
