Adblock Plus. Goes without saying. Should be a standard install for everyone.

Beyond that, I've loaded a dozen or so additional extensions. Some favorites:

Context Menu Searech. Add search engines to the context (right-click) menu. Highlight any text in a web page and launch just about any kind of search you like on that text. I've used and abused this thing so much that I couldn't live without it. I have about 25 different search URLs defined. Shopping sites like Amazon, Newegg, eBay, the local Craigslist, even Anandtech and HardForum's For Sale forums, to Wikipedia and Google and Bing maps. Beats the hell out of typing, or even having to drag text into the address bar.

Edit This Cookie. Can selectively delete some or all cookies on a site. A lot handier than having to go through Chrome's Settings > Advanced Settings > Privacy > etc. > etc.

Window Resizer. Simple extension that ads a button to the toolbar, that you can use to quickly resize the browser window according to presets that you define. Handy, because I usually keep the browser a certain size, but find that many sites require a larger window to be navigated without horizontal scroll bars.

My new favorite:

ImprovedTube. When you're on YouTube.com, it can automatically resize videos to your liking, such as fitting the width of the browser window, plus you can have it automatically do things like set the video quality to 720p and hide annotations and comments.

Others:

Simple Calendar. Handy little calendar viewer that can be called from a button in the toolbar.

Stylish. Nice if you know a little CSS. You can completely redefine how a web site looks, although it's a little foolish to spend the time to do that, since the design can change at any time. I use it mostly to 'fix' problems, like sites that use too small of a font, or to change the color of things that I find hard to see.

Speed Dial 2. This one is actually used more than all others combined. The Home page of the browser can be set to a tabbed set of pages showing thumbnails with links to favorite sites. Easier and quicker than using favorites.

Can't you edit cookies for the current site by clicking the icon on the left of the address bar / omnibox?

Not seeing an option to edit only to delete. I don't do any web dev anymore so no use for that. I can see the usefulness though.

The add-ons is why I prefer Firefox to Chrome (that's to say they work better in my experience on Firefox). And AdBlock works so much better on Firefox. Unfortunately AdBlock causes "memory leaks" in both browsers where if you don't restart them every so often their memory usage will balloon (and closing tabs won't resolve it, have to restart the browser). At least I'm assuming that's what is causing the ridiculously high memory use of Chrome for me. Right now I have 2 tabs in Chrome open one being a timed out Netflix stream and the other the Netflix main page and Chrome is using over a GB.

Also I've complained about it before but Chrome randomly ignores middle clicks for me (sometimes it treats them as normal left click, sometimes it'll do both, other times it won't do anything so I have to right click it and tell it to open as a new tab; I compared the same page in Firefox and it middle-clicked and opened a new tab fine in all the situations I tried so I have no idea why it just randomly does whatever).

I like Adblock and Adblock Plus. I use them in conjunction with each other. I also use Ghostery and HTTPs Anywhere. Occasionally I use a downloader but not very often.

Wow, that's actually pretty cool. Do you have to do anything special to get it to do a search on say Anandtech's for sale section (given the drop-down search menu), or does it search like a google cache version?

The search just has to be possible using a URL, rather than a form (an HTTP Get instead of Post).

For Anandtech For Sale forum, you can use the following link:

Code:
http://forums.anandtech.com/search.php?do=process&forumchoice[]=19&query=TESTSEARCH

HardForum's For Sale is:

Code:
http://hardforum.com/search.php?do=process&forumchoice[]=17&query=TESTSEARCH

Here's another that I use a lot. Look up an NFL player's season and career stats on Pro Football Reference by highlighting and clicking their name:

Code:
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/player_search.cgi?search=TESTSEARCH
