I went from a 450 to a 730 in under 3 years, which is a pretty good upward rate.

And thats considering i still have a few deragatory's that havent fallen off yet. But you have 15 inquiries? Thats a lot, give it a month or two with none and you'll be above 700 in no time, assuming you bump your limit up on a few acounts.

That makes sense seeing as low credit scores usually mean problem tenants.

FAKO scores are generally higher than FICO which is probably what most of the >800 people are referring to.

That's because citibank licks. Discover and Chase keep raising my limits without being asked, last time was a couple weeks ago.

Reducing the credit line was not enough for fucking Citibank. They just sent me a letter telling me that they're raising the interest rate to 29.99%. WTF?

Drop them like a sack of po-ta-toes. CapitalOne doesn't even pull that kind of shit.

You must have done something they didn't like on some other account with somebody else.

Nopes. My credit is pretty awesome. I think they probably did it since I don't use their card much. But still..

Washington Mutual posts a basic outline of your FICO score as reported by TransUnion every month. This data was as of "December 31"

Yup... and unfortunately, Chase is removing that feature when the cards switch over. I will not be happy about that.

Congrats, TechBoyJK. What you've done is a huge deal, and it'll only get better if you keep it up.

I hit my low of 520 in February of 2000. Had about $10K worth of debt, was completely irresponsible in paying it off, etc. I finally saw the light and with the help of my wife, got a bank loan to 'pay off' my bad debt. I also got 2 credit cards, both with $300 limits and a $60 a year fee. A few years later, those credit card limits were up to $5000 each and the yearly fees were waived. Around 2006, I was able to get rid of both cards, got a single, great CC, and my credit scores were all in the 700's. I'm over 800 now!

It was awful being in that position in 2000. For anyone who's in a similar spot, don't worry. Times will be tough, but you can get out of it with some time and some patience.

Wife and I financed a Mazda6 on Saturday, found out we were both at 809. Pleasantly surprised!

Congrats. I'm sure it took a good amount of effort and self discipline. A lot of people get in your position and never recover.

I need to check my report as I haven't seen my score since 2006.
