my fps maxes out at 60 in cs?

i have a geforce 2 ultra and im using open gl right now to play cs and my fps maxes out at 60? its stuck at 60 all the time and cant get above it..

before i was using direct 3d and it maxed out at 70, but someone told me to edit the cfg file and change 70 to 99 since 99 was the max fps i could get in cs and that worked..

but anyone know why my fps maxes at 60 in open gl?

Are you running Win2000? Cause Win2k 'sticks' the refresh rate in 3d games at 60Hz...
You have to either edit the registry or run one of those little programs (that are specific to your 3d card) that will allow you to set the refresh rate for each resolution.

If this isnt the problem 'fps_max XXX' in your autoexec.cfg SHOULD work.

your vsync is on, turn it off in opengL properties.

im running windows me right now and i dont see autoexec.cfg in any of my cs folders..

how can i get to my open gl properties?

Also make sure the resolution you use allows for more then 60hz as refresh rate on your monitor (unless you disable VSync).

its not your vsync unless youre running at an extremely high res...which CS doenst support anyways, and also your monitor must be bad if its giving 60 HZ at 1280.

I'm going to place a 90% bet youre running winxp or win2k, they are maxing you at 60!!!

I had the same prob with my Geforce2MX and Quake2. Go here for a fix.

im using Windows ME, my desktop resolution is 1600x1200 @ 60Hz, and my CS resolution is 1024x768
