My friend and I had some Indian food for dinner tonight

I thought we should hit up some Indian food tonight because I have never tried it before.

We found a nice, classy restaurant downtown and ordered 1 lamb dish, 1 chicken dish and 1 vegetable dish. We also had rice and Naan bread.

The actual dishes were:
Lamb Korma
Murg Tikka Labab
Gobhi Dil Khush

This was actually an awesome dinner. Spicy but not overpowering. The sauces were fantastic and the meats tender and juicy. The naan bread was very pleasant.

Over all we were very impressed with both the food and the wait staff.

We will probably hit them up again next month and try some different dishes.

I live in the south and my family served goat on occasion.Even here in the deep south people will turn their nose up at the mention of eating goat.I like it and I raise a few myself along with rabbits and chickens for eating.I never tried Indian food but always meant to.I love goat,lamb,and spicy food so seems like it would be a match made in heaven for me.Anyone know of a good place in the Gadsden/Anniston or Birmingham Al. area to eat at?

Man.. it really is hickville down there. All of them have no more than 1-15 yelp reviews (as opposed to 200-1000+ in any major city).

I dunno, Indian food grosses me out.

An older lady I know used to work in a factory with a lot of Indians. She said they would always go to the bathroom with a cup of water and was boggled by this.

She found out why later when a future tenant asked her if he could run a garden hose from the kitchen to the bathroom. He explained that they did not believe in using toilet paper and that was their method of wiping, by hand w/ water.

After hearing that, I always am skeptical of Indian food.

While they all serve lamb, not all of them serve goat. Like you said, a lot of people just won't try it.

You can get it at some Vietnamese restaurants but you usually have to ask for the "special" (i.e. - non-whiteboy) menu. You can also find goat on the menu at some Bahamian/Jamaican/Caribbean places. Goat Roti is da bomb.

There's actually not many black dominated counties, sure the south has most of the ones that are but even in Alabama there are only about 1/4 to 1/3 black majority. Kinda surprised me to look at the various % even in the surrounding counties.
