Is it sort of like seeing really old fat people having sex? That seems like it would be disgusting to me. But that's more of a universal disgust. Something we can all unite against...lol.
But sort of funny at the same time. Because we all know we will be there one day...pump and pills in hand.

Exactly!! Fat ugly people getting it on is also the gross! I have many fat ugly friends, but again would not like to see them getting it on.

I do agree that its beautiful that they have found each other and are expressing it, but I dont find it beautiful visually

I don't think I buy that people are actually "wired" to be revolted by it, just conditioned.
call it what you want. i don't see anything illogical or flawed about NOT being a fan of gay affection on the big screen.

but, i guess it makes me insecure

I guess that makes up Homophobes somehow:roll: It doesn't matter that we feel it's none of our business to tell others who they can love or how.

I know what man ass looks like. I dont like it and I dont want to see it 20 times bigger then real life. What I want to see are BOOBS!. So photoshop some boobs in there, maybe i'll watch it.

Would be kind of funny to see hairy boobs on a hairy chest.

Now THAT would make me puke.

It's not illogical. Or flawed. But there is a reason for everything.
We are merely a collection of our experiences.
Those experiences are the driving force behind what and why we believe.

Just tell her to go with one of her girlfriends. And you go see King Kong with one of your friends. Maybe with another couple you know well. This is assuming you have friends, and/or know other couples who would want to go to the movies.

If she was insistent that you go see it with her, and would accept no compromise. Well, thats grounds for a break up IMO.

that's great.

i'm not anti-gay, i'm not a homophobe, yadda yadda.

but not being a fan of the big-screen gayness... means nothing other than that. it ends there. it doesn't have to mean anything but what it is, that's all i'm saying.

When did political correctness extend to how I spend my $ or time?

My brain is pretty well hardwired to be in fight or flight mode when I see other naked men, much less other naked men engaged in anal sex or displaying homosexual behavior.

<--busted staring at a teenage age chicks ass while dropping off daughter @ HS, girl turned around & caught me in full zombie mode

Yah right.

You make it sound like an orgy - geeze. It's no different than the regular love scenes in most dramas, just two guys.

Gotta remember it's out of the ordinary for most men. Not something I'd wish to see really, I would go see Narnia OP, surprisingly good.

Nobody is asking you to be a fan of it. Doesn't mean you can't learn from it, be moved by it or enjoy it though. Don't be so closed minded.

The problem you guys are having is people are stating their OPINIONS and then you(Ryan and Zysoclaplem) are asking them to prove them. Well, it wouldn't be an opinion if it didn't necessarily have facts to back it up.

It turns out that I am attracted to short(5'1" or so) skinny girls with dark brown hair. I don't know why I find them more attractive than another girl, I just do. That's my opinion.

Now, that said, my OPINION on this matter is that I would not want to go see this movie because, while I have no problem with gay people(as in I am not going to hate them, not talk to them...) I believe it is wrong. This stems from my faith in christianity.

So, I won't go to a movie to support something I don't believe is right. That is the reason I would not see it.

Again, I would have no problems being friends with Zysoclaplem or Ryan in real life(off the forums for those of you who might not know ) but that does not mean I have to agree with the choices they make in life.

I know you're joking, but it brings up a valid point, gays want us to believe they're born gay, but if you're hetro & not accepting/embracing the PC of it all of it, you're conditioned?

I believe in a genetic predisposition to homosexual tendencies, and hetro tendencies.

I think this movie is liberal Hollywood trying to push its liberal agenda on America. They want to rub our faces in it until we accept it.

Typical crap. We all know those cattle-drives were lonely and the boys were up to no good. I think the reason many men do not want to see it is in fact the homosexual acts. It's natural for a man to be repulsed by such things, regardless of what people say we all know somewhere inside us that homosexuality is not the way we were meant to be, and is abnormal. The same way some people get repulsed over the decapitation of another in a horror movie, people are repulsed over this.

All of that being said, I would like to see Brokeback Mountain. But I will have to drive 100 miles to do it.

LOL, liberal Hollywood is rubbing this movie in our face? Let's see, the 2 leads were just about impossible to secure, the director changed at least 3 times, the script's been done for almost a decade now...yep, they sure are churning this fodder out.
