My Grandmother died Friday

I just found out early this morning.

She was 101 years old and passed away in a nursing home.

My Grandmother outlived her children.

She suffered from dementia for the last 15 years and couldn't recognize any of us.

She has no estate and the County will pay for her funeral. This is due to issues with my relatives. My cousin is supposed to have POA, but hasn't bothered enforcing it. It appears he doesn't want to part with a dime from the estate he inherited from my Aunt when she died. He has made us all very upset.

I will miss her even though she was a little strange.

UPDATE:

My sister and I have decided to bury her in the same cemetery as our parents. She has been cremated and now we are working on getting her a small plot.

101 is awesome.

My grand father made it to 92, if he had made it to 101 he would still be alive... hard to imagine that.

Personally, I can't imagine living 100 years. I just don't see it happening.

Yeah, she's from the Ukraine and came to Canada back in the early 1920's.

Seems the long-life genes are on the female side of our family.

Us guys tend to die much younger.
