I was playing skyrim for about an hour when all of a sudden, my screen goes blank and GPU fan goes full blast. My comp restarts itself but everytime it hits desktop, screen goes blank and GPU goes full blast again.
So I pull the card and the heatsink is loose inside. WOW. I disassemble it and find out theres no screws holding the heatsink? Is that how it is? Or did they forget to put screws on the heatsink? There are black screws on the sides to take off top cover and thats it. The heatsink was coming loose and ony thing holding it was the thermal paste. Right now Im posting this on my cellphone cause I have a P67 board. No card, no video.
I bought it off Amazon and its only a week old. I also have it registered through EVGA. Before I try to reapply paste or even do anything, is this a manufacturing defect? Did they forget to screw in the heatsink? Its hard to believe that it relies only on paste to keep it mounted.
