Because those are chipset and software issues, not hard drive issues, and because the size issues no longer apply as of about 3 years ago with XP/2k, much longer with every other OS, and SATA recognition issues are dependent on what chipset you have and what configuration it's set up with, and mainboard manuals ought to be the ones that mention how to make sure Windows recognizes the features. Hard drive makers sure as hell don't want to have to deal with people calling their support lines asking about how to make Windows recognize their hard drives (they probably get those calls now, but putting a confusing note in with every drive would probably make it worse, and add the people calling to find out whether the note applies to them or who broke something while trying to MAKE it apply to them).
