Buy yourself an old Jeep or truck and have at it. Best possible vehicle to learn on. Simple, cheap, and every part for it is still readily available.Originally posted by: SoulAssassin
I wish I knew how to do crap like this.
would taking classes down at community college be advisable? they have a full auto body and repair program. and i wouldn't have to buy tons of stuff up front (what do i know about arc, mig, and tig welders?)
I hadn't heard that. They do all the homes around here just like mine, though, unless the original buyer requests the garage be painted.Originally posted by: Prong
That happens here in Colorado too. I've been told that since the final sanding and painting aren't complete, the garage is still considered "unfinished", which helps keep the assessed value of the home lower than one that's been finished (for property tax purposes).
I've had all the Jeep engines. The Chevy will be better in every possible way. HP, Torque, parts availablility.Originally posted by: Throckmorton
Big hot rod engine doesn't really go with a Jeep. I know a lot of people do it, but it just doesn't fit. Chrome won't get you home, and horsepower won't get you far.

If you have too much trouble sorting out the skidplate situation, I'm sure Advanced Adapters most likely carries what you need to make it right.
