This is modest, though it's a family home, two or three kids and a pet in addition to a couple. For a young couple without kids, this is closer to modest.

Note that I said modest for someone with a reasonable income. By reasonable, I meant someone that apparently married into a family with enough money to have trust funds setup for grandchildren.

Not to sound arrogant, but those houses you showed me qualify more for blight than modest in my eyes. I'm all for older homes with character, but those don't have them.

I bought a $450K (Canadian) house last year it?s about the same size as you brother's house. I got it for $320K because the owners were in a rush to leave for Hong Kong I guess I was lucky! I just turned 24.
