From the kitchen pics, it looks like 8 foot ceilings? Yikes.

How many square feet?

And the house is ugly. No offense, but it is.

I should take pics of my in-laws house. The front door cost $20K and the chandelier in the foyer is worth $80K+. The master bedroom is probably 400 sqft with 2 bathrroms, 2 walk in closets and a sitting area and has a $20K+ chandolier in it.

not too bad but for looks it could definetley do better. kitchen is nice as hell though.

still if my house had it's basement done it could probably be just as big from the looks of the front atleast. I love my houses huge ceilings though. 20ft angled though.

Like I said, they don't flaunt their money. My sister in law actually told me that they aren't building a house for other people to look at, but for themselves to be happy in.

ROFL .... I usually define McMansion as big and cheeply built with no attention to detail. Not sure of the size, but I think it fits my definition.

Can't wait to finish my remodel (2600 sqft or so). It should sell for more than new construction which is a good thing. Bought a dump wit ha nice shell and it's really shaping up nicely.

Not fans of architecture? Your right though .... to each their own.

It's still kind of odd that they wouldn't want 9 foot ceilings at a minimum. That's kinda standard these days.

Sorry, I'm not a fan of the style they picked out. The exterior looks very boring, the term McMansion definitely applies here, very generic looking house.

Yeah, I agree. I have no idea why they did that, but there's probably some reason.

Does the house stink? After my sister and brother in law finished their house (based on those pictures, maybe 30% larger) the paint and wood finish smell remained in the house at least half a year. This is even leaving the house to air out for almost a month after completion before moving in.

nice house It looks very pretty, and the kitchen is gorgeous (this is coming from a person witha 60 sqft kitchen shared with 4 people that is dirty 90% of the time )

and I'm glad you said they aren't interested in building "bling bling"...I think that shows a lot of character, and should be the type of mentality we should strive for then show off how much we have... congratulate them for me ^_^

Wow, for being so rich it actually is pretty modest (at least size wise). The local rich-bastard where I live built a house about half a mile from where my parents live that was 25,000 sq ft and that thing is just absurd. And they jsut put it a house next door to my parents house that is ~5000 sq ft. Basically my parents live in the part of town that has suddenly become the rich ass part of town which actually sux for them since the value of their house has pretty much doubled which means they have to pay twice as much property taxes to live in the same house which they have no intent to sell.

The house is 18,000 square feet, 1/10th of a mile long. 100mb of pictures and I still don't have pics of all of it.

Denise Richards lives at the bottom of the hill behind his house. I watched that house be built.
