Unless you're Bill Gates, someone will always have more money and nicer things than you. Don't sweat it. Just be thankful for what you have because it's lot more than most people in this world have. If anything, stuff like this should motivate you to think outside the box and work harder. We live in a capitalistic society where owners make money and reap the rewards.

I think for a wealthy person being able to say their house "wouldn't even make cribs" is a GOOD thing, because it means they have class.

1/4 acre + lot?

Maids/in-laws gues home?

From the kitchen pics, it looks like 8 foot ceilings? Yikes.

How many square feet?

And the house is ugly. No offense, but it is.

I should take pics of my in-laws house. The front door cost $20K and the chandelier in the foyer is worth $80K+. The master bedroom is probably 400 sqft with 2 bathrroms, 2 walk in closets and a sitting area and has a $20K+ chandolier in it.
Like I said, they don't flaunt their money. My sister in law actually told me that they aren't building a house for other people to look at, but for themselves to be happy in.

I respect people like that very much. It goes to show that they are level-headed and down-to-earth people

House may be mediocre from the exterior, but the insides are nice.

He has a Masters in EE and an MBA. He's a geek turned CEO. He got the MBA AFTER he started the company. I remember being at COMDEX in Atlanta in 1990 and he slipped out to go to the library to write up something while working for his MBA.

Without his original brilliant product idea, he's be just another tech in the back with a t-shirt and holey jeans.

What exactly did he invent that led him to start the company?

I'm not going to say because it would give it away. Let's just say he revolutionized networking.

Ah, come on, it's not like me knowing what he invented is suddenly going to enable me to 1-up him or something

Amused, your brother lives better than kings and queens.
The room I like the most is the library.

It msut be Al Gore, invesntor of the Internet!

I don't get it. What product could be so famous that it would reveal his brother's identity? it's getting to the point that I'm ready to call shenanigans.

My patience is wearing thin, but I'll explain it once more for those who didnt read the thread. My brother is not on the forbes. His wife's grandfather is. No, they don't live fancy lifestyles. None of the family does. Her grandfather's philosophy is basically live for yourself not for anyone else. There is no need to impress others, just be happy. And they pretty much all follow that.

Then don't start the thread calling it a mansion and saying she is about to inhert a ton of money.

austin, you are uneducated as to what a McMansion is.

ThePresence , you have nothing to clarify. Your posts make it very clear as to the fianncail state of the wife and such.

I'm going to guess that anything resulting in the amount of wealth his brother obviously has is well known, so a simple Google search probably produces everything from a Wiki article to magazine articles.

While he and his first company won a great deal of awards for his products, he was never a limelight seeker. Quite the opposite. He's rather reclusive. His new and sudden wealth actually scared him and he didn't want himself or his family to become the victims of kidnappings or other attacks. Within two years of starting the comapny, he moved to a gated community with high security.

(you can see some of his awards in the bedroom office shots and library shots. He has hundreds)

Google turns up lots of old articles about him. Not as many as a few years ago before he was bought out. Wiki turns up nothing about him or his old company.

You gotta remember, his first product was the most revolutionary and it came out in the late 80s.

Looks like a nice house, however the exterior made it look old. This is a new house?

I like the kitchen, very nice.

Amused that is so fvcking incredible man. I cannot believe how awesome a place like that would be to even just visit.

God I hope some day that I can get something that is even REMOTELY awesome like that. Not even close to size, but something that would get me as excited as seeing those pictures.

I'm in awe.
