I just got my extended BR edition in the mail today. got the $50 deal.
I had forgotten how long each one is. i was thinking a couple hours give a little more for extended then seeing it i recall when i saw the edited theatrical release it was jeebus forever.
i don't have that kind of time, unsure when i'll ever find the time and then happen to be in the mood to watch just one, let alone 3.
nice packaging though and i get a digital copy which i'm sure must take as long to download as it does to watch them all.
I was looking at the included brocure of LOTR merchandise and saw the $495.00 chess set.
at first i was like OMG...then i was like...ZOMFG...then i jizzed and woke up later and cried looking at the price. Pretty epic looking chess set and i love chess.
I remember when one of the movies came out I heard a radio story (on NPR, maybe) that they had tried some sort of new AI for the fight scenes, so they might look more realistic. They tried to make the combatants intelligent and to have some free will.
They had to make some adjustments to the program because some of the combatants decided they did not want to fight and ran off. They also had a small problem with traitors who turned on their own army.
Can anyone confirm this?
MotionMan
i dunno but wish they would apply that kind of AI to video games.
