You can't tell by looking at them them. My right isn't bulkier than my left. I do a lot of rock climbing, maybe 4 times a week. Recently I started doing some lifting (I sprained my ankle and have been taking it easy). I have been noticing that my left arm approaches failure much sooner than my right. Like a whole set sooner.

What's the best way to achieve balance? I assume when I go to the gym I should work my left arm more than my right. Is there something I could be doing at home that would help? I'm not quit strong enough to do a one handed pushup.

I think it is fairly normal to be noticeably stronger on your dominant side. Dumbbell work would probably be the easy way to strengthen your weak arm up more.

Just work them evenly (ie, 3 sets of 5 for each side) and it'll fix itself in time.

That's normal. My left side is actually slightly bigger than the right, because I do so much even (barbell) work, and my right side is naturally stronger, so the left side gets more of a workout & thus is bigger. That's my theory anyway.

Either keep hammering away and eventually it will catch up, or do dumbbell exercises and go heavier on the left.

or you could just fap fap fap w/the weaker hand twice/daily.

If you try to work out the weak side more you'll probably just end up making it too strong and reversing the situation. Just keep it balance and check your form. I used to get a significantly harder workout on my left side when doing push ups. Videotaped myself, turns out I was leaning to the left a bit.

I tore a tendon in my right (dominant) arm a while ago and had to take it very light for 5 months. I learned to catch and throw a frisbee with my left hand and actually was good at it. It taught my right arm (later) how to throw properly because it wasn't relaxed enough, I was a usual tense guy.

Something like left-handed frisbee could help develop reflexes and help improve arm strength. Also left-handed punches on a heavybag or shadowboxing. Dynamic, repetitive movements is probably the best way to go.

No it's not. The stranger is when you sit on your hand until it goes numb, then you use that hand. Duh

When I did dumbbell bicep exercises a lot I had the same problem, and tried to always do the same amount of lifting with each arm, and they never seemed to even out. I stopped caring about it a long time ago. But recently after a few months of doing pull-ups and inverted rows as my only bicep exercises, I did a few sets of dumbbell curls and the strength in each arm had evened out quite a bit.
