Have you tried rubbing all the contacts with a pencil eraser? That usually works with cordless phones...should work for this too.

Not that I think this is the problem, but remember that rechargeable batteries have a limited life. Don't know the spec on the batteries supplied by Logitech, but since they used standard AA batteries it will be easy to purchase replacements.

I agree it would be easier to try some new NiMH batteries,if it still doesn`t charge then phone Logitech for a replacement,I believe they `ve a 5 year warranty.

well i changed the batteries not with rechargable ones but still nothing well the reason why i think its broken is because when i put it on the charger the little green light saying its charging doesnt come on. no light at all except the red one when the batteries are dying. well maybe i will just call logitech and see what they say.

I say do not do anything and call Logitech for a replacement.. more you play with the mouse and charger, more trouble Logitech gives you before replacing it.. result: less mess + a new mouse

Just out of curiosity is the charger plugged in? If so, is it putting out any power? A bad or unplugged power adapter could cause this.

There are a few complaints on the Logitech boards about this. I also had a problem with the green light not coming on when the mouse was in the charger. Tried a new set of batteries that I use for my digicam and had the same problem. Contacted Logitech and one of the fixes was to jiggle the mouse around in the charger. I tried this and it works. sometimes I have to jiggle it around a lot for the green charge light to come on. My son's MX 700 which was purchased before mine is also starting to develop this habit. According to Logitech this is acceptable.

now see ive tried jiggling it around because my friends mice also have these problems but it doesnt make a difference on mine when i put my mouse on there chargers it charges fine no problem, its got to be my power cord, or my charging base. how could i test to see if the power cord is actually putting out power?

I know this may sound dumb, but is ur pc up agianst a wall or something, cos the useb>ps/2 thinginy is quite long, i fixed mine by moving my case out slightly. But i have to say i really do like that mouse, feels like a corded mouse with the repsonse times.

suicidalpsycho12: Find a friend with a multimeter, and measure the voltage across the two charging pins in the base unit. Set the multimeter for about 20v.

Of course, you can do the same with the wall wart, just put one of the probes inside the end of the connector and one on the outside.

Let us know how it goes, I'd hate for this to be a common fault...

hey guys fixed the mouse, all this help and it was something simple *sigh* ok heres what i did i took the base apart completly i didnt want to because of the warranty and stuff but i figured what the hell i can fix it. so i took the mouse and directly touched the contacts from the base, and it started chargin again. so i took the contacts bent them forward, i really really bent them forward so that way when i put the mouse on the base it will charge and i wont have any problems with hafting to jiggle it or anything. thanks for all your help guys.
