My media server idea

I have a 2.2 Ghz Celeron Processor

G. Skill 2 GB Ram

WD Green 1 TB I will eventually get another 1TB Drive to setup a software RAID.

SATA to IDE
My OS hard drive will be a LAPTOP SATA 60 GB drive. I want to convert it to IDE so the two SATA ports on the motherboard are both single.



Another question. I have Windows XP PRO, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista 64 bit.

I'd like to get some server experience but I hear that Xbox 360 will not pick up a Server OS?

Does this look like a cheap mediaserver build?

Media servers aren't under much stress, it's all really about storage and software, so you can really use the cheapest components you can find. (Unless your doing HD decoding, which could use a decent GPU)

I'm not worried about GPU because I'm streaming to my XBox/Laptop.
