My mom bought a VCD at the swap meet, please help!

i came home to a goden colored cd. i thought it was borrowed from a relative of ours. guess what i asked my mom how she got it she said she bought it for $5.00 at the swap meet. anyways, i honestly don't think thats right selling vcd's to unknowingly customers. they only sold her 1 of 2 cd's too. they ripped her off. i would like to e-mail or call someone and let them know that someone is pirated movies at the swap meet and trying to make money off of it. the movie was the one, so yes it was pirated, it wasnt a regular home made video that wasnt illegally reproduced. please tell me what i should do. i dont know where to start. should i call 911 and report it? what should i do! help please thanks!

i don't think it's worth the trouble for $5. but if you are really determined, you can see if they frequent the swap meet, and tell the police. but don't dial 911. that's for emergencies. people need their lives saved, not the line tied up because you're reporting piracy.

Stick your nose is somebody elses business and send them to Jail over $5 or even $100 and they'll probably come looking for you when you get out. Learn a lesson? What do you mean learn a lesson? So you're kind of saying, that my mom is expected to be street smart? She's from the Philippines ok. She understands English quite well, but she has no idea what the difference between a DVD and a VCD is. C'mon give me a break here. I know it's only $5.00 but the guy has no right selling copyrighted movies in the first place. I think he should be put in jail or fined for the stupid things he?s doing. $5.00 of my mom?s hard earned money was wasted because some moron on IRC downloaded the movie and thought he could make a buck off it selling it. I hope he gets arrested by the fbi and gets put in a federal penitentiary. Just because it was $5.00 doesnt mean a damn thing. If it was $500.00 then you show sympathy? What the crap.

No, I have no warez, no mp3's, and no divx movies. I'm strictly legit. I'm running Windows 98SE which I bought many years ago. I dont listen to music, nor do I wish to download divx movies.

And through the Windows Preview Program, I had Windows XP Pro Beta 2 and RC1/2. I paid $20.00 to preview all of that though.

If I were in your shows, I wouldn't have cared much if they ripped ME off and I paid $5 for it... but if they tricked my poor innocent mother, I'd be pissed.

Don't do anything crazy though, just get in touch with the right people, at the very least you can get your mother's $5 back.
