my monitor is just black

When i turn on my computer, the monitor is just black, but the light on the monitor showed it is turned on. So i changed my graphic card, the problem still exist. What should i do?
my monitor is Viewsonic VX-800
graphic card is GF4 MX-440
sony rs-322
~300W power
infenion ram PC2700
2.8ghz p4 800FSB

Need more background information. When the last time it was working? What have you changed since than? make sure you have all teh pins in your monitor plug.

everything is plugged. last time working was yesterday when it just went black when i shut it down. nothing changed

Pwer down everything completly. Even turn off the power surge if you have one. Unplug and replug everything back in. Let it sit for a minute. Try again. If it doesnt work, try the onboard video on your motherboard.

i did that too. it still won't work. the mb doesn't have onboard video

Go back to your first post and edit it to include your full system specs, including the brand and model of your memory and your power supply. That will help

Change the PSU.

why change PSU? does it have to do with the monitor?
The PSU has to rated for a stable system. so i guess Sony is not making it stable?

but the monitor is now working after i doing all sort of stuff

make sure you dont have the contrast and brightness turned all the way down. my crt is getting old and when i power it down it defaults to 0
