But still, not a bad choice. My only complaint with modern M cars is how fat they've gotten, and the severe lack of the true stick shift. The M3 CSL doesn't even have one, and the new M5 won't either.

i believe the M5 will have a stick shift for the US market only. you're right, in europe they will all be SMG.

because a new one configured like that would have been 59K + TTL. i paid a third less than that. that's as specific as i'll get. i did end up around 4K less than KBB though after some furious negotiating.

it's actually fairly roomy for my 5'10" self. dunny about 6.4 i'm still fiddling with the seat configurations to find the optimum position to zip around traffic yet be able to spot the coppers.

Wonderful choice - the E46 is my semi-realistic dream car, and I'll probably get one at some point. I think I'd take the manual transmission rather than the SMG, but still an awesome car.

2) Too bad it's SMG and not a 6-speed
3) Have fun fixing it when it breaks. You could easily end up spending as much on maintenance as you did on the car itself.
