3) Have fun fixing it when it breaks. You could easily end up spending as much on maintenance as you did on the car itself.

What the hell happened to you? Did Skoorb or NSF4 take over your brain? You used to be able to recognize good cars, as I recall. Maybe I was thinking of someone else.

I use to be VERY pro-BMW, but Bangle and iDrive have since changed my mind. From the mid-90s to 2002/E60 BMW 7-series, BMW was the best car company on the planet.
With that said, I've never liked BMW's SMG. It's cool if Ferrari is doing it, otherwise not so good. I'd personally always prefer a traditional manual tranny. My parents also owned BMWs fior 30 years. The last one they owned, a 1991 BMW M3, cost them just as much to maintain as purchase, spending upwards of $12K in one year on engine repairs alone. Face it, they are very expensive to fix at your local BMW dealer.

I wouldn't expect to own any European car and get by under $5k a year in maintenance. Comes with the territory.
SMG II is a VAST improvement. If you get a chance to drive one, do it, you'll change your mind about it.
Bangle cars already look better to me than the old ones. They seem cartoonish, and fantastic, almost unbelievable, exactly what a BMW should be.

Either way, IMO, all the bangle cars look fugly as hell. Very Nice cars(for the most part), but still fugly.
