Okay, I'm about to buy and build my new pc. This is it. Let me know what you think. (multiply UK£ by 1.4 to get US$).

It's fine, but what do you need the juice for? What do you do with it? Gaming = bigger monitor, MP3 = better sound, etc..

I'll mainly be playing games. I would like a bigger monitor but I'm out of money. How much difference does a good soundcard make?.

Looks like a sweet system to me. What are you using now? What do you plan on doing with your new system? If there's anything in particular, you may want to change certain parts, etc, but it looks pretty good to me. Only thing is if you had the extra £$, I'd put in at 192 or 256MB instead of 128MB memory.

Well, if I were you, I will get a Duron instead of Tbird and get a good pair of speakers. After I got my pair of Klipsch, my celeron system become very much more enjoyable, either for playing games or listen to CD/MP3 while working, and I think sound makes a HUGE difference in gaming. You probably don't have the money for Klipsch since they retail at $259 here at US, but you should get a good sound system if you want to really enjoy the games. (I guess that also depends on what games you play, if you play mostly strategy game, it probably won't make lots of difference.) I don't know if Ensonic handles surround sound or not, if it does, that's all you need. But if it doesn't, you can get a cheap sound blaster live value for around US$45, and basically get all the functions you will need.

Athlon is a good CPU at at good price. But since your budget is limited, you should consider putting your money in something that will make a bigger difference in your gaming experience. I would start with 1. Sound. 2. Monitor (You already get a ok video card) 3. Memory (128 is ok for now, but definately more is better) 4. CPU (Duron 600-700 is pretty fast for today's game already. If you overclock it, CPU power will be the least of your concern)

Going with Duron should save you ~$120, adding a bit money, you should get a decent pair of speakers.

But if for some reason you cannot turn on the volume in your house, go with what you got, they are pretty good gaming system.
