The schadenfreude of megabuck hypercars crashing and/or burning.
The latest was the Lotus Evija X that crashed immediately at Goodwood. Not since that AI race where like half the cars immediately turned and crashed into the wall have I had such a laugh at something car related. It also reminded me of when some executive (CEO?) couldn't handle the company's (for some reason I'm thinking it was Ford, but maybe it was Chrysler with one of the Hellcat's?) hot car.
Hennessey crashed one of their F5's in a shakedown.
Koenigsegg putting a stop drive order out after one of the Jeskos blew hydraulic fluid that then burned the car.
Anyone remember that Rotary powered supercar concept that Mazda did (that I think was the kickoff of their modern design language)? Did you know that Top Gear (the magazine, not the show) burned the car to the ground?
Anyone know of other examples? They need to be ones that people walked away from or only just single driver who's ego far outstripped their driving capabilities (so they didn't take anyone else with them).
Just remembered the kid that deliberately drove his Veyron into a lake to try and get insurance money. And the several Ferraris that burned due to adhesives in the engine bay.
