Mine is within arm's reach all the time I'm at home, meets me at the door, and sleeps with me at night.

He's 2.5 feet from me now, the exhaust heat from the projector is blowing on him (I use one for a TV) and he's very happy.

He's the best pet I've ever had.

Yep, they're heat magnets. They're also super friendly, it's one of the breed charachteristics. I've had cats that just sat on furniture & watched you, Sphynx's are all over you, like a friendly dog. (they're basically a hairless Devon Rex, another super friendly cat)
