IIRC they've said at the current rate of sales their supply will be gone in the next 1-2 years.
yeah, they are Hornady but Hornady makes 30.06 specifically marked for M1 Garands.
Hm... well I bought them from an M1 Garand website, so I hope they'll be good.
By the way, what are some fun things to shoot after I'm done zeroing/shooting targets? I'm thinking cheap beer (such as natty ice which doesn't deserve to be drunk anyway) will make a cool explosion, but what else?
Should be 168gr
Heh, it was right on the side:
Anyway, I was headed out to a friend of my dads private property to shoot, and on the way he called and said he had to cancel because his brother was going into emergency surgery.
So instead we had to head to the local range, where we couldn't shoot all the cool stuff I bought. I bought 1 watermelon, two cantelopes, four cans of shaving cream, and a 24 case of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Now, the melons I'll just eat, but WTF am I going to do with PBR?!
Anyway, it was a blast to shoot. I loved the "ping" and ejection of the clip, even when it hit me in the head. I had a bit of trouble zeroing it at first because I wasn't used to the weight (it's about 50% heavier than an M4 and a lot more weight towards the end), but it shot really well once I got adjusted.
how much did you pay for that ammo btw?
You can get 200 rds. of 30.06 surplus from CMP for about $100 +shipping (last I checked). I've got a small stockpile, like 1000 rounds or so,
I got mine from CMP (service grade) and when I opened the box I thought I got a brand new one! it was really nice. It had a brand new CMP stock set on it though. Was kind of bummed, but I guess it's better than getting wood that would only be good for firewood.
I had mine out about 2 weeks ago. want to take it out again this week if the weather is nice. Want to take out my 1903 also. haven't shot that in awhile.
Nice :awe: I bought a Model 63 in .22lr a couple of months ago, it's tons of fun to shoot.
Even with the shortish barrel I can hold 3" 10 round groups at 25 yards off hand, it's got an awesome single action trigger.
