My newegg Kreton pc2100 256M has CH-6 chips

So I had to get cheap memory fast so I went for the cheap stuff from newegg, Kreton 256M of pc2100. I just now got around to testing it, yeah I guess I really didn't need it that fast but I am finding it's some awesome memory. I did not get a chance to thoroughly test it but I am running it at 400MHz. I will go higher tonight until I see fire . I will post my timings and everything, but this is weird, I have heard of getting pc2700 chips with pc2100 but not getting pc3200 chips. Anyone else come across this?

*Update* I was getting errors from Windows when running the memory at 400Mhz, some things are too good to be true I guess .

woah! i am just about ready to order a stick of kreton 3200 for my second rig, but if the 2100 will hit 3200...

Of course the logical choice for pc3200 would be that www.tblmemory.com pc3200 CH-5 256M of Buffalo for about 43 shipped, for anyone that missed that thread .

Ok, finally getting some free time...I found out that we have Winbond CH-6 chips, commonly of the pc2700 flavor. W942508CH-6 I still have the memory running at 400Mhz with no problems, I will find the latency numbers later. I am going to do some testing to see if I can crash it.

Well I ran memtest for 30 minutes (does that sound right, does this program usually run for that long?), I think I got through test 6 or something, I got no errors. I am unfamiliar with this program. The problem is that this computer will let me install some things and won't let me install others, like some windows installer files say package is not a valid windows package and I also get errors when unzipping saying some file should be something else. The system is from parts from my old computer and I am getting these errors. I guess my next step is to clock back to stock speeds and see what happens.

Weird, I get no errors from completing memtest but stock clocking the memory back to pc2100 gets rid of the installation and unzipping problems. Some things are too good to be true I guess .

It seems that lots of ram can hit PC3200 nowadays. The manu. processes are probably tons better. Some buds got some PC2700 Kingston Valueram. I started uppign the FSB, and we encountered no probs on the way to 200 bus.

My corsair 2700 runs at 400MHz 2-2-3-11 even
