Nvidia "created" their pseudo "new" products GTX 770 and 780 (which are basically nothing but the old cards with GPU Boost 2.0 in the BIOS and slighter higher memory clocks)...
...so they can release "new" cards at the same time when Haswell comes out since they know that when new CPUs are being released, many people build new systems from the ground up.
People who are NOW getting Haswell systems and upgrade from an older system are the likely buyers for 770/780.
If the rumours are true that 770/780 sales are "slow" then solely because not many who already have a 670/680 or Titan would have an urge to get a 770/780, which, IMO should make the vast majority of people. Because, frankly, the 770/780 are NOT cards where one would be eager pre-ordering and then at the time they are in the stores they would sell out...UNLESS you have such an old system with a card older than earlier GK-104.
But THEN..those people who had cards worse than 6xx cards are likely not gamers/hw enthusiasts and not interested in getting a 770/780 either.
