My P180 with minor tweaking (pics )

Just some pics of my Antec P180 and some stuff that should had been done by antec before release.

Here is where i dremeled the fan mount so i can slide my wires in easier

Next was to mod the lower compartment with a front intake fan.

Dremel the bracket to retain the HD locking hole.

Then use 3 case screws and washers to hold it in place.

Here is where i cut open the holes for better airflow.
The top intake i used a plier, was before i decided to take the case apart to work on it. and the bottom i used a dremel, hence the better cut. The hole was carefully cut to maintain the use of stock filters.

I decided to add another 120mm fan to blow on my vid card, Didnt work to well so i took it off. messed up my airflow on my heatsink, made the cpu temp rise.

Sealed off the vga duct.

Sealed off the mesh so the air blows back instead of straight up, also in hope that it reduces noise. Also attached is the Zalman fan controller for my heatsink.

Anyways, thats the best i could do with all the stuff i have. adding 2 more hd soon and hdtv tuner. i might replace the zalman heatsink once the sycthe ninja comes in stock. the zalman messes with airflow sort of.

o and i meant to post this like a month ago but i was banned by a moderator for no reason, so yea.

the top vent exhaust back, just not straight up no more. reduces alil noise too. works well this way.

lol, i got the same response on other forums.
i tend to do alil tweaking on most of my cases, but they dont seem to complicated.

i think sleeving my psu was the worst, took me like an hr.

Nice simple mods but I don't know how well they actually work....I mean you did block off a lot of vents which is like to me. But oh well, props to ya.

Well he compensated by putting dual intakes in the front.

Creates a clean airflow

Front fans ------>> Back fan + Top fan

my 4 hd with middle fan temps were 45, 39, 40. now its 39, 35, 36. last hd doesnt have a temp probe.

maybe its not needed if you turn the middle fan up. but i have my case fan all on low. my case is prob around <22db in sound.without compromising heat.

Good job linjy! It's making me want to pick up a P180 after all and see if I can copy your mods with a dremel and work on cabling it as well as dynamix.

all i can say, very big cahones. I would never dare to bring anything remotely sharper than the blunt end of a rubber screwdriver to a $150 case

Once I get my case I plan on taking my dremel to it, perhaps modding that bottom front fan for my master RAID set

i cased modded all my cases, back when cases werent even presold with windows and window kits didnt even exist. when i had to wire my own leds to get the case all lit up. i grew over the windows and light phase but now i do subtle mods.
