My package shipped to wrong address. Recourse>

Quick question for you peeps out there.

Let me preface by saying that I screwed up so no part of my story am I trying to shift the blame.

Long story short, I order an item from an online retailer and use paypal as my payment method. For some reason the address defaults to an old address that I used years ago. I didn't catch it on confirmation but realized my fault when I got the email. I said "Well shit.. let me cancel it or fix this somehow." I email the retailer (self service doesn't work for paypal orders) and explain that I need it cancelled or have the address fixed.

It ships before they get back to me. I call the retailer, and UPS to try to fix the shipping address at least. No dice. I figure my last chance would be to go pick it up at the old place and see if the current resident is helpful. Nope... no reply at all, he knows my contact anyways so if I didn't hear from him as soon as it arrived, he probably has the intention to keep it.

Well that sucks... It's not going to break the bank for me, but what can I do at this point?

Not arguing that a note is also valid, but it's equally as easy to ignore as an email.

I might just drop by tomorrow during the day and ask. I figure if the mormans can do it, I can do it right?

It wasn't mis-delivered, as far as the carrier is concerned they delivered the package to the requested location and service is complete. They're not going to do anything unless either the OP or the retailer can get a hold of them and send them a return label.
