well my sisters and brothers all got nicer cars than this, and even when their cars were totaled or died got another car.
due to us being poor now and cars getting more expensive i guess we're getting cheaper cars.

As children, we have people who look at us. Friends look at our cars. When he goes tailgating at a football game and a crowd of people is around someone else's car, that'll just make his look that much less worthless. Do you have any idea what this will do to his social standing? AFAIK, there's a full list being kept now, based on many factors such as hair style, clothing, and now cars. You've gotta keep a good appearance to maintain that social standing, it's not easy, competition is harder than ever with all the asian folk coming in with their big expensive cars.Originally posted by: Shivetya

You're an idiot, parents have no respect for kids anymore, they forgot what it's like to be a kid. My friends all drive nicer cars, why should I be stuck in a corrolla?Originally posted by: Fullmetal Chocobo
I really hate threads like this.
because you are not paying for it?
loser
I for one, support the OP in his battle against his unwilling parents, they've clearly forgotten just how hard the life of a HS'er is.
OP: Stand up for your rights, this is your time to shine.
It's responses like this that make this thread comedy gold.
I remember High School pretty well because I graduated in 2003. I had to share a camry with my twin sister. We didn't get the car till our senior year in High School anyways. I can just picture who these people would be High School. God, if I saw them now I would probably be rolling on the floor laughing.
Of course I didn't have to worry about loosing friends over my car. I had a solid group of buddys who I still keep in contact with (in fact we are going to Vegas in June fvck yeah!).
This thread is awesome.

God your parents are just a-holes. You should at LEAST get a Ferrari and an episode of "My Sweet 16."
OP, I feel you. Screw the Proletariat.
How was your Christmas by the way; did Santa get you an ebayed Playstation 3 and XBox 360 or were you stuck with coal again?

Okay, I get the point, and I guess I am being a whiny asshole.
And I guess I'm mostly pissed about the fact that my siblings got nicer cars than this, and that I just don't really care for the Corolla (but I will take anything I get, and I wont complain (thanks AT!)); they should've gotten at least a Yaris or something. I'm a freshman in college btw.
SORRY!

I personally dont understand it. I'm sure most of us have been disappointed at some point in our lives because we didnt get what we wanted. OP just came out and said it. Its not like he said he hates his parents or anything along those lines. And the OP is what? 16? having a "cool car" is everything at that age. Although I wouldnt be disappointed myself (since I didnt have a car until 20), its not too hard to see where he is coming from.
If I had the resources, I would take my kid to whatever dealership he wanted and have him or her pick out the exact car he or she wanted. You know why? Because my parents weren't able to that for me. Instead, they supported me through college and law school so I can give even more to my kids.
